Welcome to the New Eden Community Blog

Recently branched off from the older community of Eden, many younger residents have chosen to move away from their ancestoral land to a different location, called New Eden. Although most residents still hold closely to their family ties and history they are eager to start a new life in a place they can make their own.

Fall 2011 - D'Sim

Fall 2011 - Shawn (46), Jane (31), Shane and Imogene (3)

This fall the D'Sim's welcomed a guest to their home.  Shawn's mother, Em, had been excited when she heard the news of the birth of the twins.  She was anxious to arrange a visit so she could meet her grandchildren, but waited until she could schedule a long block of vacation time so she could arrange an extended visit.

Em arrived in New Eden, just in time for the Summer Festival.  She and Jane seemed to hit it off right away.
The house was too small for a guestroom, so instead of sleeping on the couch, Em found a rental house and planned daily visits to her son and daughter-in-law's house.

She was so excited to get to know Imogene and Shane.

She didn't want to be a burden on the kids, so she tried to help out when ever she could, not only with the babies, but also around the house and yard.

There was a lot that needed to be done.  And she was sure that with both parents working and trying to care for twins, they could use all the help they could get.

Jane was still using her vacation days and working from home as much as she could.  Shawn was gone a lot and either exhausted when he came home or busy helping with the twins or trying to get in some extra telescope time.  Em felt like she didn't get to see much of her son at all and despite their warm initial meeting, being in the house all day with Jane felt a little awkward.

Their conversations were not as natural as she hoped.

Too often, Jane too offense at their topics of conversation and took Em's remarks are personal criticisms.

Jane started hinting that maybe it was time for her to pack up and go home, but it seems that Em was having other ideas.

ROS - Jane D'Sim meets someone new.  I was going to use the second name my ROS program generates to chose the person she meets, but I was already planning for Em to visit, so it happened to work for that too.  Since Shawn is my simself's son, I had to recreate her in New Eden, so she could meet the grandbabies.

Fall 2011 - Crabtree

Fall 2011 - Winston (34)
This non-communication with Fawn had gone on for too long.  After seeing her at the summer festival and having a short, but pleasant conversation with her, Winston really wanted to talk with Fawn.

So much time had past since their falling out last winter.  He really needed to know what had gone wrong between them.

"Why don't you come over?  I'll make dinner and we can talk."

"I don't know . . ." she hesitated.

"If dinner seems too serious, too much like a date, how about brunch?  We should talk, in person."

"I'll think about it."

Since it sounded like Fawn was not accepting his invitations, Winston decided to focus on work.  He had been getting to know Joy London, a recent college grad looking for work as an actress.

They started a serious of interviews.  He liked to get to know where all of his clients' strengths were.  Joy seemed smart and fit.

She was funny and charismatic.  When he said goodbye following their first meeting, he had a good feeling about her potential.

He invited her over to his house a few days later to see if she had any musical talent.  He was impressed with what he heard.

Fawn had ended their phone call with the impression that she would not be coming over, so Winston was surprised to see her pass by his house just as Joy was leaving and his next client, Keith was arriving.

They greeted each other like old friends

very, dear old friends

and there was no doubt that the electricity and chemistry was still there.

Fawn could still play the piano like a pro

and he still couldn't cook beyond simple sandwiches and still always had his mind on his work.

She was still one of the most effortlessly sexy sims he'd known.

They started with small talk.  She shared how things were going at the art gallery

and asked how managing her brother's band was going.  Just as they were about to get to a serious conversation, Keith interrupted.  A woman had called Winston's office phone, anxious to speak with him.

It was terrible timing.  Lara, the woman he had met on vacation wanted to chat.  He tried to end the conversation as quickly and politely as possible, but he hadn't said goodbye yet when Fawn entered the room.

He tried to play off the phone call with a joke.  Fawn was no amused.  In fact, she was so put off with his bad taste, that she left immediately.  He knew then that what they had really was over.

The next day, Lara dropped by unexpectedly.  She was concerned with how he had ended their phone call so abruptly and decided to come over to talk with him in person.

They greeted each other like new lovers.

She took his hand and led him to his office sofa.  He had been intimate with Fawn many times, but never felt the way he was feeling with Lara in this moment.  He wondered if Lara was his future now that his relationship with Fawn seemed to be a thing of the past.

If it truly was the end for them, he knew he would always have a soft spot for her in his memories.  No one played the piano like Fawn.

Summer Festival - 2011

Summer Festival 2011

This summer sims gathered for fun and games in the sun at the grand opening of the new public pool and beach lot.

The teens found their own corner of the sands away from the aduts to talk and play games.

Winston and Fawn chatted for the first time in what seemed like ages.

But his new love interest Lara was in attendance as well . . . and he didn't ignore her.

Heather and Jimmy were happy to see each other.

And he was beginning to see their relationship blossom into something more than just physical.

But he wasn't denying his attraction to Fawn either.

Family members were reunited, as Shawn welcomed his mother, who just arrived in town in time for the festival.  She had been anxious to make the trip to New Eden to meet her grandbabies.

Unexpected jealousies arose when Fawn saw James flirting with Genesis.

She was furious and did not hesitate to speak her mind.  "Seriously, after all you've been talking about Genesis around town, now you're thinking about giving her another chance?  What is with you?'

Fawn and James weren't the only ones who weren't getting along well at the party.

A few sims ventured to check out the pool . . .

and the karaoke machine . . .

But what really got everyone going was the music.  Most sims didn't leave the corner of the lot since they were so busy socializing, but no one can resist the smustle!

Summer 2011 - First

Seth (39), Ivy (36), Kendra (9), Jared and Leah (1)

The First household was settled into a nice routine.  As soon as he came home from work, Seth would chow down on whatever leftovers Ivy had made earlier in the day,

then he'd head upstairs to take care of the babies,

so his wife could catch some much needed sleep.

The babies and Ivy in bed, he hoped on the computer to do some research until Kendra got home from school,

then they'd head outside for some one on one, daddy-daughter play time in the front yard,

before it was time for the babies' afternoon feeding.  By then Ivy would be well rested enough to enjoy some time with the family.

If they were lucky, they'd find at least a few moments to let each other know how happy they were to be married to the other.

As she was getting older, Kendra was starting to become more independent.  She was making her own friends at school.  She often invited her best friend, Bridget over.  Bridget was a lot younger, but there weren't really any kids in the hood that were any closer to Kendra's age, so she didn't mind that Bridget was only in first grade, when she was in fourth.

She was also developing her own hobbies as well.

She really enjoyed playing chess and was glad when she could get some special time alone with her mom and dad.

Soon Ivy would be returning to work, so the family had to employ a nanny on a regular basis.  She arrived just in time to change the babies' diapers.

Once the babies were taken care of, she let Kendra entertain herself, and the cat, while she caught up on her favorite soaps.

Kendra was always glad when her parents came home from work at the end of the day.

She couldn't wait to spend time with them.

And they with her.  As she was getting older, it was fun to watch her develop her own interests and grow into the sim she would become in the future.  They could hope for nothing more than for her to remain the sweet girl she is now.
